Nobody should have to figure out their next chapter alone.

A Michigan nonprofit offering mentorship, support, and real resources to women rebuilding their lives — and to young people aging out of foster care.

The Devine Foundation exists to make sure that the people most often left to manage on their own have someone in their corner — with mentorship, practical help, and a community that sticks around.

We work in two directions. We walk with women who are rebuilding, growing, healing, or starting over. And we walk with teenagers and young adults stepping out of the foster care system into an adulthood no one prepared them for.

Both groups are told to be resilient. We would rather they be supported.

For women

Every woman deserves a hand to hold and a path forward.

We support women at every stage — rebuilding after hardship, growing into something new, healing, or simply looking for a community that believes in her next chapter.

From first steps to new beginnings, she does not have to walk it alone.

For foster youth

Aging out of care shouldn’t mean aging out of support.

We walk with teens and young adults transitioning out of the foster care system, providing the mentorship, transportation, and stability every young person deserves as they step into adulthood.

Turning eighteen shouldn’t mean facing the world with nothing and no one.

J’Nita Dillard Cribbs

Founder, peer mentor, and women’s empowerment speaker

Meet the founder

Lived it. Now she walks others through it.

J’Nita grew up inside the foster care system — separated from her siblings, moved from home to home, and carrying things no child should have to carry.

Faith brought her back to her family, and in the years since she has rebuilt her life from the ground up more than once. The whole of that story is hers to tell, and she is telling it in a book of her own.

Today she stands as a peer mentor, a speaker, and the host of women’s empowerment events — building the foundation she once needed, for the people still living what she lived.

This works because people show up.

There is more than one way to be part of it.
